Revolutionary Circles (2013) Assorted materials and electronic components, installation view
I created a kinetic bi-directional media projector as a compound metaphor for the phrase βthe moving image.β This form of expanded cinema is capable of projecting independent audio/video feeds from its two opposite ends. In one instance I chose to project text from a poem I wrote from one end; while the other end projected a montage of found footage. The sculpture was suspended from the ceiling and left for people to sway like a pendulum. Throughout its procession, the two videos are in constant negotiation as they go into and out of focus based on their proximity to the walls.
